Tim
Weingarten
promoted to Partner, Jeb Miller promoted to

PALO ALTO, Calif. – November,
8 2004 – Worldview Technology Partners, a leading technology venture
capital firm, today announced that Tim Weingarten
has been promoted to Partner, Jeb Miller has been
promoted to Principal, and Pete Goettner
has been promoted to Venture Partner.

Tim
Weingarten,
Partner
Tim Weingarten has deep
experience investing in the networking, wireless and enterprise datacenter
industries. In addition, Tim focuses on investments in the digital media
value chain, particularly broadband-enabled applications and services for the
digital home and digital consumer. He helps shape Worldview’s
investment strategy in these areas and provides critical support and strategic
advice to Worldview’s portfolio companies in these industries.
Tim is a board member of
Cogent Communications, Force10 Networks, KineticTide,
Inc. and Movaz Networks, and he will soon join the
board of Visage Mobile.
Tim also serves as a board observer at Butterfly.Net, Laurel Networks,
Mistletoe Technology and Reactrix.
Tim joined Worldview in
February of 2000 from Robertson, Stephens and Company where he worked in the
Telecom Equipment research group. He
led Robertson’s research into the architecture and build-out of
next-generation service provider wireline and
wireless networks, and he authored a number of papers on the trends behind
the design of carrier next generation networks. Tim holds a B.S. degree in Electrical
Engineering from the University
of Pennsylvania.

Jeb Miller, Principal
Jeb Miller focuses on
investments in the enterprise software and data center infrastructure
sectors. Jeb brings a wealth of investment and
operational knowledge to Worldview and its portfolio companies.
Jeb
is a board member at LogLogic and a board observer
at Azul Systems, BitPass,
Cemaphore Systems, Collation, FineGround
Networks, Mirapoint, nSite,
ONStor, Purisma and 3PARdata,
and was previously a board member of Rhapsody Networks (acquired by Brocade
Communications) and a board observer at IntruVert
Networks (acquired by Network Associates).
Jeb joined Worldview
in March 2002 from Morgan Stanley Technology Ventures, where he was
responsible for investments in the enterprise infrastructure and storage
sectors. Previously, Jeb was Director of Business
Development for Scient, an eBusiness
services firm, where he managed business development and investor relations.
There Jeb also helped launch and manage Scient Capital, the firm’s corporate venture
capital arm.
Prior to Scient,
Jeb was a member of Morgan Stanley’s
technology investment banking franchise in Menlo Park,
Boston and New York.
He was involved with financings and/or strategic advisory services for
clients including Brocade, Cascade, Ciena, Excel
Switching, Fujitsu, homestore.com, IBM, iCube,
Lexmark, Nexabit, Sapient, Scient,
SeaChange, Siemens, Stratus and TeleTech.
Jeb
graduated Summa Cum Laude from Harvard
College with a B.A. in
Economics.
Pete
Goettner, Venture Partner
Pete Goettner
’s
investment focus is on early stage software companies. Pete joined Worldview
in June 2003 as an Executive-in-Residence with 15 years of operational
experience, including nearly a decade at the senior management level. Pete is on the board of directors of PostPath (Formerly Apptran Software), nSite and Bitpass. Prior to Worldview, Pete was the co-founder and CEO of DigitalThink, a leading e-learning company. At DigitalThink, he led the company through a successful
initial public offering, grew annual revenues to over $60 million in six
years, and pioneered a hosted model for delivering corporate training content
that revitalized the formerly stagnant industry.
WORLDVIEW ANNOUNCES PROMOTIONS 3-3-3
Before founding DigitalThink, Pete
ran the marketing and business development groups at Knowledge Revolution
(acquired by MSC Software) and Silicon Microstructures. Prior to this, he was
a consultant in Accenture’s supply chain
management group.
Pete earned an M.B.A. from
the Haas School
of Business at UC Berkeley and a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from
the University
of Michigan.
David Suzuki
Promoted to Vice President Business Development
Worldview also announced the promotion of David Suzuki to Vice
President of Business Development. David manages Worldview’s business
development activities and provides strategic advice to Worldview’s
portfolio companies on both international strategy and developing channel
partnerships in the U.S. David often travels to Japan,
Asia and Europe to help Worldview’s
business development teams promote new products and technologies with
international customers.
