Worldview helps Cyras launch a global expansion campaign Cyras Communications developed a next generation add/drop multiplexer that featured data-aware SONET devices. This breakthrough platform allowed carriers to upgrade their existing SONET infrastructure to handle rapid growth of data traffic on their networks. Worldview invested in Cyras during the companys product development stage, and immediately began to research opportunities in Asia. Worldview met with top-tier carriers in Singapore, China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan, organizing high-level meetings between carrier senior management and Cyras VP of Marketing and VP of Sales. Worldview facilitated Cyras participation in CommunicAsia2001 where the company met with over ten Asian carriers in a three day period. Based on this experience, Worldview and Cyras determined that the most promising initial market was Japan. Worldview helped build a sales funnel that led to Cyras largest contract to date, eAccess. Worldview identified an opportunity with eAccess, a new, competitive Japanese carrier that was building a next generation SONET infrastructure. Worldview immediately recognized the magnitude of the opportunity and presented Cyras technology, features and economics to eAccess. Cyras offering was received with a high level of interest. Worldview then hosted selected Cyras sales personnel and engineers in Japan, and the sales process began. It was apparent that the customer was highly motivated and that Cyras offered a compelling solution. Worldview over-delivered. They enabled us to expand globally faster than our competitors and much more efficiently than we could have done on our own. Worldview continued to support our customers by helping with the transition to the Ciena Japan Team. |
